How we Praise

Why do we lift our hands?

We lift our hands as a symbol of surrender, dependence and obedience.  Ps. 134:2, 1 Ti. 2:8

Why do raise our voices?

We lift our voices as a form of adoration and love.  Ps. 149:1,Ps. 150:6, Heb. 13:15

Why do we clap our hands?

Ps. 47:1

Why do we sing choruses as well as old Hymns?

We seek to praise God with those heartfelt expressions that reflect His peoples love and devotion to Him.  Col. 3:16

Why do we have speaking in tongues and interpretation as well as prophecy?

Tongues and interpretation and prophecy are two of the forms by which the Spirit of God communicates to His church.  1 Co. 14:1,3,5, 27,39.

Why do we stand?

Why does the whole church pray for specific needs?

We agree with each other in prayer taking our needs, requests and thanksgivings to God.  Acts 4:24.

We do we receive tithes and offerings?

We return to God a portion of the material goods that He has given us the ability to acquire. Mal.  3:10.

At times someone may speak loudly to share a message with everyone in the room.  this is one of the ways God highlights something for us.  Don't panic but listen to what is said.

Worship

Worship is the practice of bringing ones heart to God and waiting in His presence with it.

Psalm 147:1

"Praise the Lord.  How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise Him." (sic)
